Rising Poker Pro: Ryan Lenaghan

If the name Ryan Lenaghan doesnt immediately come to mind when you imagine a list of big name poker pros, youre not alone. Until little over a week ago, Legaghan was a complete unknown in the professional poker circuit. Fast-forward to Day 7 of the World Series of Poker Main Event, and a lot has changed. The native of New Orleans managed to hit the 15 million chip mark before any other player, and hes holding his own in a field of 30 remaining contenders.

In an interview with PokerListings, Lenaghan described the tournament so far as both surreal and so much fun, saying that hell be happy with any result at this point, but that hes firmly determined to make the final table.

Despite playing seriously for only three years, Lenaghan knew that he wanted to pursue poker on a professional level since he was a young boy.

Day 3 of WSOP Main Event Concludes

The 2011 edition of the World Series of Poker Main Event has been ongoing for a full week, giving plenty of time for the wheat to separate from the proverbial chaff.
