I have a confession to make. I succumbed to the hype and watched all the celebs going into the Big Brother house last night. Please forgive me, but I couldnt resist finding out which of the rumours was right and which were wrong.

The papers were spot on with Kerry Katona, Amy Childs, Tara Reid and Jedward, but the rest well, as ex Big Brother legend and Foxy Bingo lovely Nikki Grahame might say Who arrree theyyy?.

I might be showing my age here, but of the ten that went in those above and Speakers wife Sally Bercow are the only ones I have ever heard of. A 50% ratio might not be good news for Channel 5 who have taken over the franchise after Channel 4 decided the format was dead in the water.

The rest, for readers information are, Bobby Sabel model, Darren Lyons paparazzi, Lucien Laviscount actor, Paddy Doherty traveller and Pamela Bach Hasselhoff ex wife David Hasselhoff.

Now, it might just be my imagination, but it appeared to me that Jedward not only got the best reception from the crowd, but they performed to entertain us despite how nervous they may have been, they have apparently got a different suit for every day of the show and when they entered the house they appeared polite and interested in everyone they were meeting.

My view at this early stage in the Celebrity Big Brother proceedings is that as long as they arent on 24 hours a day and jumping up and down and shouting all the time, these X Factor losers could in fact be the big winners. I didnt think I would be supporting these annoying boys, but in amongst the crowd they are, they will probably shine and they have my support at this stage.

Im not alone in this view it would seem. Oddschecker have the boys at 3/1 to win this morning, with TOWIEs Amy Childs at 4/1 with some paparazzi king called Darren Lyons a 40/1 outsider.

As a footnote I find it quite ironic that three of the celebs taking part in this Big Brother, the original reality show, are only famous because of other reality shows namely Jedward, Amy Childs and Paddy Doherty. I think this is a really sad indication of the state of our TV viewing.
